Just in 2024 Kelly has: 🏆 Won 3rd place at HAYVN HATCH Pitch Night for tech-enabled businesses 🏆 Celebrated a win at the Yale Innovation Summit 🏆 Earned 2nd place at reSET’s Venture Showcase @poem_renovation is positioning itself to become a go-to resource in language arts classrooms, enhancing both literacy and social-emotional learning. Most recently, its Poem Pals program gave students the opportunity to connect across the country. This summer, poem RENOVATION expanded into the continuing care market, beta-testing at five United Church Homes communities in Ohio. By incorporating hardcopy word challenges, individuals of all abilities, including those with memory challenges, are finding joy and self-expression. With an invitation to present at the Ohio Health Care Association’s 2025 Conference and a new grant from the New Haven Equitable Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, exciting updates and collaborations are on the horizon for the coming year. Frances first joined the reSET ecosystem at our Community Pitch Night on a chilly evening this past February, where her pitch for starting a welcoming dry bar captivated the room. By the time she joined reSET’s Impact Accelerator in March, Frances had already signed a lease for her storefront. Meet Evy Ruiz, the founder of Hasta Luego Friend ( @hastaluegofriend_ ), a queer Puerto Rican-owned mobile coffee business that has been brewing connections and building community since December 2023! Evy joined our Food Incubator in spring 2024 with a dream of converting a camper into a mobile coffee trailer with the help of her dad. While the trailer was under construction, she brought her vision to life by serving cafecito from a handcrafted wooden cart at private events and community celebrations. This summer, Evy officially launched her fully-equipped mobile coffee trailer and secured a spot at Westside Square ( @westsidesquare), delighting customers with delicious coffee and specialty drinks throughout the summer and fall. Now, you can find her at festivals and private events across Greater Hartford. Did you know Hartford is known as the coffee capital of Connecticut? ☕ One of the gems in Hartford’s coffee scene is Hasta Luego Friend a mobile coffee cart founded by Evelyn Ruiz (she/her)—or as we know her, Evy like Chevy! An alumna of our Food Incubator Program, Evy brings unique coffee creations to life, including the fan-favorite Coquito Latte. A Queer Puerto Rican born and raised in Hartford, Evy’s journey took her from Miami Beach to New York before returning to her hometown just under a year ago.
