reSET Supporters,
With the first quarter of 2018 well underway, the team at reSET and I are excited to announce a strategic partnership with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. BL&D is the Parkville-based community development platform behind the KNOW GOOD Market, and many other well-known events and projects.
We’ve always prided ourselves on being one of the most inclusive entrepreneurial networks around. And we hope that has been reflective in our intentional recruitment of mentors, professionals and startups of varying backgrounds, perspectives, ethnicities, professions, age groups and socioeconomic statuses. By working with BL&D to promote community building, entrepreneurship and investment in our community, we know we can make a tangible, positive social impact in Hartford.
In some ways this partnership is reSET’s story coming full circle. The beginnings of BL&D were bubbling when two of their now partners, Onyeka Obiocha and Jeff Devereux (then working on different startups), met in our second ever accelerator cohort in 2013 and soon began collaborating on small projects around the city. As BL&D’s work in the community began to dig deeper, they each moved from different areas of the region to live and work in Parkville. BL&D were big advocates and supporters of our move to Parkville, and we’re excited to be liaising with them to strengthen each other’s work.
We’ll continue overseeing all of reSET’s programs (Accelerator, Internship, Mentor Network and entrepreneurial support services), while BL&D will now take over the space’s coworking and event operations. Please stay tuned for more updates on our work together and mark your calendars for the first of many new events here on Sat., Feb. 24th from 7-10pm (see below).
We hope to see you there!
