reSET Partners with Kiva Zip

ewalsh • April 27, 2016

reSET is excited to announce that we have been chosen by Kiva to be the organization’s “Kiva Advisor” in Connecticut! Kiva is a 501(c)3 non-profit microfinance organization, which leverages technology to provide crowd-funded loans at 0% interest to entrepreneurs and small businesses across the globe.

As a Kiva Advisor, reSET will be working with the organization’s U.S.-based lending arm, Kiva Zip, to help entrepreneurs in Connecticut navigate the application process and gain access to capital.

Through Kiva Zip, small businesses and entrepreneurs can access up to $10,000 in loan capital at a 0% interest rate through the organizations’s crowd-funding portal. Rather than relying on traditional underwriting criteria, Kiva Zip relies on a social underwriting process. This process allows the wisdom of the ‘crowd’ – a mix of the entrepreneurs, friends and family, and a network of thousands of lenders across the country – to dictate whether a loan should be fully funded. Entrepreneurs and businesses have access to the Kiva Zip platform regardless of education level, immigration status, credit score, years in business, or past incarceration status.

reSET and Kiva agree that dreams are universal, but opportunity is not. reSET is proud to partner with Kiva to democratize access to capital for startups and small businesses.
